Though a straight line appears to be the shortest distance between 2 points, life has a way of confounding geography. Often it is the dalliances and the detours that define us. There are no maps to guide our most important searches; we must rely on hope, chance, intuition and a willingness to be surprised.

Mozambique and Zimbabwe

Just a really quick update. I’ve now left Malawi, traveled through Mozambique and arrived in Zimbabwe. The country is pretty much bereft of tourists. In fact, pretty much bereft of white people. Being here is nothing if not interesting. I wouldn’t swap this part of the trip for anything actually - plenty of tales to tell, including a visit to Harare, more bush-camping and two muggings (one by monkeys!). Internet is dead slow here though so it will have to wait until I get to the Victoria Falls.

Going walking with lions this afternoon….
